Hotel Le Saint Gelais

I needed an emergency chiropractor during my stay, and the staff found someone in town and set up the appointment for me. They were incredible and kind. The property is gorgeous, and the locally sourced breakfast pastries were the best I've ever eaten. One of the best hotel experiences I've had abroad. I can't speak highly enough of this place.

Finding the hotel was easy enough, but watch out: the satnav may direct you to the road above it instead of through the arch. The room was smart, modern, and well appointed, and it was very quiet. Staff were friendly, and the views are wonderful, dominated by the church above. The beautiful ramparts and city center are only a short walk away, making this an excellent base for exploring. I had a very pleasant stay while traveling through the area.

My mother and I stayed for one night, and the service was fantastic throughout. The rooms were clean, and having the shower and toilet in separate spaces was great for staying with family instead of a romantic partner. At check-in, we got a map with shop and restaurant recommendations from the lovely brunette woman with glasses at the front desk, whose name I can't remember. That was helpful since we had to check in at 3pm. A few hours later, Pierre Louis was also extremely helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. The only things that surprised me were the lack of English breakfast tea in the room and vodka in the bar, since they mentioned they have a lot of English guests. Still, I'd recommend the hotel. The location, rooms, and service were top notch.
