Hôtel des Alpes

Hotel des Alpes suited our one night in Annecy perfectly. We flew into GVA and broke up the trip to Val Disere with a night here. The location made it easy to walk everywhere, and the room matched the hotel's class and price with no problems. It's great value for the price, location, and cleanliness. Just be aware that reception is up one flight of stairs. There's a tiny lift from there, but only one person fits at a time. We used it for our luggage and that worked out fine.

The location worked really well, between the train station and the old town, and the hotel was quiet, clean, and comfortable despite being small. My room was spacious enough, though a little dated. Breakfast had a nice range of options, and the staff were so friendly and helpful that they really made the stay. I’d happily come back.

The room was simple but did the job for my two nights. What made the stay especially welcoming was the staff, particularly a young woman whose name I’m sorry I didn’t catch. The hotel is handy for the station, the lake, parks, landmarks, and other amenities. I’d stay here again next time I’m in Annecy.

This felt more like an Airbnb-style guesthouse, with only a handful of rooms and no elevator. The woman at reception was rude, arrogant, and racially discriminatory. Your reply to my review has only confirmed that avoiding your hotel was the right choice. Rather than deal with what I described, you attacked me, denied it, and made accusations, which matches the hostile, unprofessional treatment I experienced in person. I’m describing what happened to me, and I have every right to warn other travelers about poor service. I do leave 4- and 5-star reviews when hotels treat guests well. Yours simply didn’t. Your dismissive response reinforces the unprofessionalism I encountered. I know what I went through, so there’s no need to worry about me “lying.” Maybe reflect on how your staff treated me instead of attacking guests. You can try to twist the story, but that doesn’t change my experience. The aggressive reply is another reason I felt this review needed to be written.
