There’s plenty to do nearby, with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. Breakfast cost an extra 10,5€. We booked through booking.com, and the front desk lady let us look at both available rooms before choosing. We picked the one facing the nearby pedestrian zone. She mentioned it could be noisy, but street noise wasn’t a problem for us. The room was clean, though the bed was a little uncomfortable. Since we were only there for one night, we could live with that. It was all good, if nothing special, and about what you’d expect for the price.

We had a wonderful view from our room, and even the view from the hotel stairs was lovely. Everything is close by. The toilet was very small, but that’s understandable given the hotel’s historic location.

We spent 10 days at Icone Hotel and would stay there again. It’s an easy place to explore the area from: the old town is a short walk away, with restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, pharmacies and shops nearby. Annecy Lake and the famous Palais de Luil are about a 10-minute walk. It felt safe, and we could also take the bus to other villages. Our room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, with daily housekeeping keeping it in good shape. The reception and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We really enjoyed our time there and would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient, pleasant stay in Annecy.

The rates, service and location were great. But you can hear far too much between floors, so there’s basically no privacy because the soundproofing is so poor.

Right in the middle of the old town, and easy to find from the train or bus station. An excellent hotel.
