Les Tresoms Lake and Spa Resort

The restaurant and breakfast were outstanding, and otherwise I found almost everything perfect. It’s a very welcoming place, with staff who were extremely helpful and attentive. The SPA let the experience down. We’d paid in advance, but nobody told us the steam room wasn’t working, and there was no advance notice or refund. There seemed to be hardly any SPA staff, and they weren’t attentive: we waited to be noticed and to get towels. The area was cold and poorly heated too. At a property of this standard, serving tea in reusable plastic cups also really detracts from the experience.

The parking charge felt ridiculous. The hotel is outside the city and has a large parking patio, so charging guests seems poor. For what it costs, we can’t recommend the place at all. The room was very small and noisy. We could hear other rooms and everything outside, and it never got fully dark: the curtain didn’t cover the whole window, and because our room faced the parking area, lights shone in all night. We should have listened to the many negative reviews. This hotel shouldn’t be four stars for what it offers. The spa was the worst experience. To get there, you have to go outside the hotel in the cold. The pool was so cold we couldn’t stay in it, and there were many people at once for such a small space, so it wasn’t private.

The lake views were beautiful, and the location felt peaceful and private. Our room was clean and fairly spacious, especially the bathroom. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of local tips.

Our room was on the small side, but it had everything we needed. We had a lovely weekend, with good service and a nice spa. Breakfast was good too, especially the breads and croissants. We also tried the hotel restaurant L’Atelier, which was decent.
