Logis Hotel-Restaurant Saint Romain

The room was comfortable and very nice. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, though it seemed to be quite popular.

We booked a table for a big group a month ahead, but half the dishes weren’t available. Of what we ordered, half the ingredients were missing, so you ended up with steak and rice. The service was really rude, and they charged us for two extra bottles of wine that we hadn’t ordered or drunk. Other hotel guests had also been wrongly charged for drinks the previous day. What a scam. I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant.

They were great about accommodating our needs, but there were a few drawbacks. The reception and bathroom smelled strongly of damp, and it was difficult to close our room window. The restaurant only had five meals to choose from, three fish, one vegetarian and one meat, so more options would have been nice.

The reception was really nice, and the room was okay. The meal for our group of 15 was a letdown, though. We’d booked ahead, but half the menu wasn’t available. Five of us ordered salmon tartare as a main, which was served with half a cup of rice and just two slices of courgette. We asked if they’d brought the starter by mistake because it didn’t seem worth 24 euros. The rude response was that they’d run out of fries and salad too. They could have gone to the Lidl one block away. Our friends had warned us to check the bill because they’d been overcharged the day before. When we went to pay, the server gave us the price without showing the bill. We asked to see it and found two extra bottles of wine. She checked and said, “sorry ils sont se tromper”. Errors happen, but doing it twice feels like a scam. Wouldn’t recommend.
