Juan Les Pins is an easy five-minute walk downhill, and the station is about ten minutes away, with regular trains to Monaco, Cannes, and Nice. The upper floors have good views, and the neighborhood is quiet. The residence is pretty basic, more like an upmarket backpackers, though the owners are working on improvements. During our two-night stay we had no hot water either morning, and the bathroom needed a full renovation. It was fairly inexpensive, but don’t expect toiletries or other inclusions. The lift is tiny and feels claustrophobic.

The ground-floor apartment was a decent size, with a well-equipped kitchen and coffee machine. We liked the beautiful exterior and the quiet, tucked-away street, which was still a short walk from the centre. Inside, though, noise carried very clearly from the neighboring room, and the courtyard wasn’t private as we’d expected. The shower cubicle was very dark, and the bedroom air conditioning didn’t work well, so the room got hot at night.

It’s more of a pension than a hotel, but there are some good points: free street parking nearby, a comfortable bed, a nice kitchen, good internet, and a five-minute walk to the seaside or 10-15 minutes to Antibes centre. We chose it because the room had a kitchen, despite it costing as much as a good hotel. Check-in was messy. They couldn’t find our Booking.com reservation at first, then took about ten minutes to sort it out, and the room still wasn’t ready. We were given a different, larger room, but only found out after entering. I would have preferred the smaller one I booked. We had to wait for staff to make the bed and bring some kitchen items. With a baby, you often need a moment to use the toilet or settle in, rather than wait and discuss things. There was a dog barking loudly behind an open door by the ground-floor exit. That was unsettling with a small baby, since we didn’t know what to expect or what kind of dog it was. After four days, nobody had asked about the rubbish, so we left four full plastic bags on the balcony. We only had one roll of toilet paper for the whole stay, some towels were dirty and gray, and nobody cleaned the room. The furniture needs fixing too. When we came out of the small elevator, we could hear that loud barking again. I’d suggest putting more time and money into comfort and cleaning, and less into the nice grass in the yard or entrance door.

We were asked to leave even though we’d paid for a week, and the owners, who are brothers, wanted us to help book another Airbnb. Their behavior felt very inappropriate and they didn’t make time to accommodate us. On arrival, the welcome was poor, the rooms were dirty and full of ants, and I had to ask for my own sheets and soap. The bathroom was dirty too, and a leaking shower head flooded it. I had to ask for a broom and mop, but the rooms didn’t have those supplies. It was very overpriced for what we got. I really wouldn’t recommend spending your time or money here.

We were made to feel comfortable and safe throughout our week, and our host went out of his way to help, including recommending good places to eat and drink. The apartment was spacious and clean, with air conditioning throughout and a coffee machine. The building is beautiful, and the town centre is just a few minutes away on foot. We’ll definitely return.
