Hotel Le Relais Du Postillon

We had a smooth check-in and check-out, and the man at reception kindly arranged a good taxi to the airport. The reception and housekeeping staff were polite, the hotel was very clean, and the rooms were nicely decorated, even better in person than in the photos. There’s also a small lift, handy for luggage. It’s a lovely little hotel in a great part of Antibes. The bar staff weren’t very friendly, and the square got quite noisy on one of our three nights. The noise wasn’t a problem on the other nights, and earplugs made it easy to block out.

I felt welcome and safe traveling on my own, and the staff seemed happy to work there and knew the area well. They let me leave my luggage until it was time to go to the airport, which helped a lot. Le Relais du Postillon has a lovely atmosphere, and I’ll be back. It’s in an old townhouse on a pedestrian square in Antibes’ old town, about a 10-minute walk from the train station, with the bus station just around the corner. My room had a big, completely private patio with a wooden floor, a comfortable bed, a good shower in the private bathroom, a desk, and a large wardrobe. There was a TV with French channels, and some programs were in English. A primary school is behind the hotel, so it was quiet apart from the happy sound of children playing. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve had in France. The croissants and pains au chocolat were the best I’ve tasted, and I’ve tried quite a few. The bread was fresh and changed each day, and the fresh fruit, especially the melon, was divine. There was lots of choice, and you could eat inside or on the terrace. I had dinner at Le Relais du Postillon three times. The portions were generous, and everything was fresh and tasty. Great value for money.

I’m a sucker for historic buildings with modern comforts, and this place has that mix. The beds are comfortable, the Wi-Fi is excellent, and everything was incredibly clean. The food is simple and delicious, and service is quick. It’s only a four-minute walk to Port Vauban. Whenever I’m back for a short work trip, the crew seem to remember me and greet me with a smile, sometimes with extra olives too. The location is right in the center, yet it stays quiet at night. The wine and tapas restaurant at street level is a great place to have a drink or three and finish emails, with live music across the square.

Our group had a great stay and would love to come back to Hotel Relais du Postillon. We had four rooms for four women over four nights for a small conference. Each room had its own charm, and we appreciated the decor, the sitting areas, the comfort, and the hospitality. The hotel offers a lot for the price, and the terrace was very good too. Staying in Antibes’ historic center was a delight, with excellent access to parking, buses, and trains. Our original booking in a nearby village had to be cancelled at the last minute for technical reasons. I contacted the hotel in a rush to explain, and Gilles at reception was incredibly helpful in sorting things out. The staff stayed professional and friendly throughout our visit.
