Hôtel le Sud

The room had cute decor and a sweet vibe, and the price was affordable, but our stay at Hotel Le Sud was mediocre at best. The shower holder was broken, so we had to hold the shower head ourselves. That wasn’t a huge deal, but the Wi-Fi dropping every 15 minutes made it annoying to watch a movie. The neighborhood also wasn’t as nice as we’d expected, though we’re relaxed about that and it was fine. What bothered us most was someone opening our room door while we were asleep. The front desk said it was housekeeping, but there was no knock, and it felt like an invasion of privacy. I think we’ll choose somewhere else next time.

We booked four nights at Hotel Le Sud just outside Antibes for July 2025, but left early after a disappointing stay. The manager was dismissive and rude when we explained why we wanted to shorten the booking. He refused a refund for the unused nights and made no effort to listen or resolve things professionally. Apart from one kind, helpful young woman at the front desk, staff were unhelpful and sometimes unfriendly. Getting around was inconvenient. The beach was significantly farther away than the description led us to expect, and the area felt a bit rough. We often passed groups drinking and intoxicated near the street, which felt unpleasant when walking back to the car, especially at night. Street parking was nearly impossible; the discounted public car park the hotel offered was still a fair distance away. The hotel itself was extremely basic. The carpet looked cheap and worn, and there was visible dust and grime near the bottom of the closet, leaving the impression that upkeep and cleanliness weren’t priorities. The photos may make it look stylish or charming, but our experience was a letdown, and we feel the online reviews may not reflect the reality. We wouldn’t return or recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, convenience, or genuine hospitality.

The service was laughable. It felt like our being there was an inconvenience. The renovation looks cheap, even with the trendy decor. The carpet is gross, the floors need a full redo, and there are questionable stains on the walls. They need to clean more thoroughly and repaint.

The train station is only two minutes away, and the hotel is in a great location. The rooms are spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Amazing hotel!
