Hôtel La Villa Sainte Valérie Adults Only

The garden is gorgeous, and breakfast out there is a must. This little hotel feels like a hidden retreat, with a charming garden that makes it a perfect romantic escape. It’s immaculate and exceptionally well kept, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely romantic weekend. The photos don’t do it justice, you have to experience it.

The pool area was gorgeous, and I never had trouble finding a sunbed. My room was huge, though I’d booked the cheapest one, so I’m not sure if I’d been upgraded. The bed was comfy too. My only gripe was the air conditioning, which could have been colder. There was just one unit for the whole suite, so it took a while to cool down. It’s right by town and the beach, with loads of good shops. One of the prettiest and most peaceful hotels I’ve stayed in. Highly recommend.

We returned from Australia after a glowing stay with family here in 2023, when this was a charming, wonderful hotel run by a lovely family across three generations. I’d written that I couldn’t wait to come back. Sadly, it’s since been sold to a hotel chain, and the difference is stark. The staff now seem focused on profit and show little understanding of hospitality. On a hot day, there was no refreshing welcome fruit drink like before. I had to ask for water and received one glass for myself, but none for the rest of my family. I was told a bottle would cost €2. Tap water is fine, but it felt as though they couldn’t be bothered to bring everyone a glass. Breakfast has changed too. The staff were offhand, unsmiling, and uninterested, and the food was mediocre, with birds eating the bread. I’m afraid the hotel will lose its reputation and guests if this continues. What a shame.

The breakfast setting looked like a fairytale, and the food was very good. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, and the people were extremely polite. The customer service was 10/10, they made us feel at home. An amazing experience, highly recommended.
