We got home yesterday after a full week at Hotel Le Ponteil, and we’re already thinking about returning. Valerie was a wonderfully attentive host, even with our 4 year old. She was happy to help with anything, including finding a barber who spoke English. Our room was clean, air-conditioned, and nicely decorated. Breakfast was excellent value at €15 per person per day, with pastries, breads, cheeses, meats, honey, jams, eggs, fresh juices, tea, and coffee. Parking was easy to sort out and cost €10/night. The location made the week easy too. Plage de Ponteil, a lovely sandy beach with great amenities, is just a few minutes away on foot. Old Antibes and its many places to eat are also walkable. We could also use the hotel as a base for day drives to Monaco, Cannes, Nice, Menton, Grimaldi, and Sanremo. It’s a traditionally chique French hotel with excellent amenities at a very reasonable price. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

Breakfast here is a must, it was delicious and generous, and the homemade granola and vitamin-shot smoothies were standouts. The hotel has a relaxed feel and is a short walk from the beach. We had a very comfortable room, and the owners were lovely and helpful.

On our three-week trip from Australia, we stayed in many hotels across France, most of them 4 or 5 star, and this one was as good as or better than some that cost much more. It’s charming, clean, and really comfortable, though it isn’t luxury. We loved the room with a terrace and the wonderful service. The beach and old town are close by. My partner and I would definitely stay here again.

The location is about the only thing that partly justifies the price. The rooms were in disastrous condition, and the owners seemed inexperienced in hospitality. A complete disaster of a stay.

We had breakfast on both mornings, and it was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our garden room was perfect and nicely furnished, and the location was ideal, close to the old town and just a few hundred feet from the best beach in the area. Thanks again, this really is a hidden gem!
