It turned out okay, but was definitely not what I expected from the pictures. The rooms are tiny, with too little space for two strangers, and cooking isn’t really possible despite the listing mentioning a kitchenette. The ventilation carries smells from one room through the residence, leading to complaints, so using the kitchen is impossible.

The photos on Google are old, so don’t be taken in by them. The food was awful, and I felt unwell after eating it and had to go to the bathroom later. It seemed like it may have been precooked and reused throughout the two weeks I stayed, though I can’t say for sure. Definitely not worth the money. Check the fine print: check-in is only from 5 to 7 pm. My flight was cancelled because of the strike in France, so I had to spend 10 hours taking the train. It had already been a terrible day, and when I called, the host was very rude, saying he was asleep and asking why I was calling. Some of this was down to my own poor planning, but Airbnb hosts are generally more accommodating about check-in times. I can’t really comment on the place because I didn’t bother checking in, and I had a flight the next morning. Visitors, be warned. Don’t waste your money.

Patrice is so welcoming and always available if you need anything. The surroundings are wonderfully quiet and peaceful, and it’s a great, reasonably priced place to stay in Juan Les Pins.
