Le Couvent Hotel

The breakfast was good, with ham, cheese and warm chocolate rolls, and the service was very friendly. Our room was spacious and beautiful in an old traditional building. The one problem was that twin beds weren’t available, even though we had booked them.

Before we’d even booked, the customer service was already a zero. We sent an online request for a room at the Convent in Apt and got no reply or confirmation. When we called, they said they’d get back to us that day, but nothing came. I left another phone message, and that went unanswered too.

After a long hike through the Provençal countryside, relaxing by the pool with some local rosé is a must. The rooms are huge, the staff are pleasant, and breakfast is delicious. And the cat is wonderfully fat. It was an excellent experience.

I sent two enquiries asking if they had any vacancies and didn’t get a reply either time. I travel a lot and have stayed at hotels of all kinds, but they’ve all had the decency to answer emails. Leaving a customer’s message unanswered says a lot about how a hotel views its guests, so thanks for silently telling us not to spend our money here. I was also checking with other places at the same time. They replied within minutes, and in the end I chose a different village altogether.
