CGH Résidence & Spa Le Centaure (FLA102)

We had a spacious apartment for five adults and spent a lovely week in Flaine. The spa was a highlight, especially the sauna, and the pool and facilities were great. Some people seem to expect a jacuzzi, but the signs give the whirlpool temperature as 31-35°. The jets worked brilliantly on sore muscles. The apartment was well equipped, with plenty of dishes and glasses, good cleaning supplies and condiments, a roomy ski locker, and a fondue maker to borrow. We had only two sets of towels, bathrobes, and slippers at check-in, but the spa reception quickly supplied the other three. The front desk staff were lovely, and the location worked really well for the resort. Ski-in is a mogul-prone red run, so beginners should be cautious. Two adults in our group had never skied before, but were happy to ski out by day three. For check-in, it may be easier to send one person up to reception for the door code and then come back to the ground floor lifts, as there are quite a few stairs with luggage. We’ll definitely return.

Our full deposit was kept, and we were left feeling guests can lose their money over things outside their control. We were blamed for a chair that was already beside a radiator when we arrived. If the radiator caused the damage, it seems to point to how the accommodation is set up. The dishwasher also failed to run the evening before we left, so we had to start it on departure morning. The appliance problem was still raised against us after we’d gone. Reception was closed the night before departure, so we couldn’t discuss any concerns in person. Local taxes were only requested at the end of the stay, unlike what we’re used to at most accommodations. It was an extremely disappointing experience, and we wouldn’t stay here again. If you do book, I strongly recommend paying the deposit by credit card so you have some protection if there’s a dispute. This stay may cost more than expected.

The Grand massif area is absolutely stunning, and the slopes, bars, and cafes are right outside the building. The Spar is superb, the pool is lovely, and the staff are fantastic. Special shout out to Max, nice one Max. We’ll be back.

Stayed in early January and had a good time. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and really lovely. The outside of the building could look better, but that’s me nitpicking.
