We'd happily come back. The owner and his wife were handling most of the hotel and restaurant themselves because they were unexpectedly short-staffed, yet nobody seemed overlooked. They were efficient and attentive, and made the place feel relaxed and homely. The owner also took time to explain the vegetarian choices to my partner, and they were flexible about what we wanted. We hadn't booked private parking beforehand, but he let us use the hotel's courtyard, which put my mind at ease. The welcome and setting were both lovely. Other hotel restaurants could learn from how they run things. Highly recommended.

The room was fine for a night, with a comfortable bed, soft pillows, working air conditioning and an adequate en-suite. Still, a bottle of water, a coffee setup and a small fridge would have been welcome. The beer at the bar was €9 for a large one, more than a pint in London, and canned water cost €4. Dinner was fine once the power came back before 10 pm, and some options became available. When we arrived there had been no electricity. We understand that wasn't the owner's fault, but guests, including us, had booked dinner. Rather than offering to arrange takeaways from places with power, he suggested people get in their cars and drive somewhere for dinner. That didn't feel very caring, especially after we'd driven all day from Italy. We arrived after 4 pm, as we'd been told the gates would stay locked until then. The hotel's lot was full, so we parked outside, which was no problem. But the bill included €10 for parking in the hotel lot. We explained where we'd parked and the charge was taken off. Breakfast cost €14. We came down around 8:25 and found no staff, no set tables, and a help-yourself spread with no one around to assist. We were apparently first, though the other guests came down later. There was about a dessert spoonful of dried-out scrambled egg and no bread, just around eight rolls and a similar number of croissants. Nobody topped up the eggs or was there to ask for more. Reception was shut too, with a sign saying so. Breakfast ended at 9 am and we had to leave our room by 10. We've stayed at hundreds of hotels on our summer European classic car trips and had all sorts of experiences, including some exceptional ones. About twenty days earlier, on the way to Italy, we stayed at another Logis hotel that was in the great category. This stay at a Logis hotel was much less enjoyable. We wondered if the owner didn't like English guests, or was perhaps worn out from running the hotel. It must be hard work, and allowances have to be made. Would I stay again? Sadly, no. Other people may have a better time there.

The rooms are very clean, with a spacious, modern bathroom, and the private parking feels secure. There's also a lovely pool, great for the kids and for unwinding after hours on the road. Service was excellent, and the restaurant on site serves really good food, so you won't go hungry. It's a great-value stop heading south or north. I highly recommend this stopover hotel, and it's going to be our regular break for the next few years.

The pool area is stylish and clean, and the air conditioning works well. There's fast, reliable WiFi, even by the pool, and locked parking is available if you reserve it. The renovated rooms and restaurant feel modern and cozy. The hallways and reception could use some work, and breakfast has room for improvement.

The reception staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming, but the room itself was very basic and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. There was no WiFi, which was an unpleasant surprise for a chain hotel. The shower was small, though the amazing water pressure made it feel like a power shower. There was nowhere to make tea or coffee, and I had to park on the street.
