Apartment in Historic Town Villa in the Town of Arcachon

We had a small apartment in a great spot for exploring Arcachon. The bedroom was quite small, but there’s a nice little pool with comfortable sun loungers. A good, secure car park is available too.

Great for a foldiex like me. The location is perfect, and the walk to the center through the park is nice when it’s open, with a lift down to ground level. We got a lovely welcome and had an excellent ground-floor apartment room. It was very clean, and the pool was good.

The reception staff were very friendly and informative, and free wifi and off-road parking were a bonus. The hotel sits in a lovely residential area full of stunning 19th Century Villas. There are plenty of villas on the side streets too, so it’s worth taking a walk around. Getting to the centre of Arcachon takes about 15 minutes on foot through Parc Mauresque, and the uphill walk back is a nice challenge. We stayed out of season, so the renovations going on inside and outside didn’t surprise us.

The building facade is wonderful, which makes the state of the place such a shame. The apartments are dated and badly need refurbishment, and management doesn’t seem to value feedback about cleanliness or insects in the apartment. We’ve travelled across Europe from Norway, and this was without a doubt the worst place we’ve stayed. I’d stay away until the apartments and the way guest feedback is handled get serious attention.
