The sea view from our room was just as amazing as the website promised, and the location is excellent: quiet at night and steps from the beach, restaurants, and shops. The bed was clean and comfortable, the towels were plentiful and clean, the appliances worked as expected, and there was a reasonable selection of kitchenware. The room was a good size with plenty of space for our suitcases. The woman at the front desk was gracious and helpful, patient with my French and creative in finding ways to help. A few things to know: the washers and dryers were tucked into a small closet and weren’t working while we were there. There’s a nice nearby laundromat, Laverie D'Arcachon at the corner of Rue Moliere and Bd de General Leclerc. There were no kitchen towels, sponge, or dish soap, and only 2 dishwasher soap pods. The cleaning staff brought more when we asked. The tub bottom is slightly rounded and slippery, and the step down to the floor was bigger than I expected. The electronic curtain motors sat in front of one window, so it couldn’t be opened or closed properly. The finishes felt like an attempt at high end that missed badly: the curtains are electronic, but the trim, doors, and paint were in very sad condition. The bathroom had black and orange mold in the shower, plus a faint smell like men who hadn’t aimed well. When we moved the kitchen table away from the wall, we realized it had been propped up against it. I don’t blame the staff. If management visited the rooms, they’d see that cleaners need more time and that a lot of basic maintenance is needed. I’m torn about staying again. The place has promise, but the owners seem focused on elegance while missing the basics. It’s certainly not a 4-star hotel. I’d call it a 3-star hotel in a great location that needs a good cleaning.

What a dump. The room hadn’t been cleaned at all: the towels were dirty, the garbage was overflowing, and there was a stain on the bathroom floor like the toilet had backed up. The toilet also wouldn’t flush when we arrived. The kitchenette wasn’t equipped at all. Reception said they’d get the room cleaned. An hour later, nothing had happened, so we went back. “Oh, that hasn’t been done yet? I’ll send someone right away.” Still nothing. The next time we went down, reception was closed and the staff had simply gone home. We found a random staff member who told us to leave the key in a box at reception, since we’d found another place not too far away. There were a bunch of keys on the counter, and the entrance door, normally protected by a code, had been propped open with a chair. Open house for random bums? Really weird. We’ve stayed in odd places over the years, but this one takes the crown.

The location is what makes it okay, because the room is tiny. You can’t even walk all the way around the bed to reach the wardrobe! There’s a dishwasher in the room, but a washing machine would be more useful. And the lifts must be the slowest in the world 😏

Very clean, and the location is perfect, close to restaurants, the beach, and the supermarket. It’s very good. Thanks.
