The price is still attractive for Arcachon, especially considering that it’s a 10-minute walk to both the town center and the beach. This used to be a family-run guesthouse, and it has a comfortable, home-like feel, though that comes with both upsides and downsides if you’re used to hotel chains. The rooms are clean and renovated while keeping their original character. The bathrooms are dated, and the plumbing can be noisy. There’s no air conditioning in the rooms or breakfast room, so it’s a choice between having breakfast in your room or out on the terrace.

It’s very close to the center of Arcachon, which is handy, but the room got really hot because the shutters had been left open all day. There’s no air conditioning, and the bathroom was very old. Breakfast didn’t offer much choice for the price, and the person in charge came across as quite bossy at first.

The owner was really kind and helpful. The place is quiet, very clean, well equipped, and well maintained. There’s a little balcony with a table and chairs, and it’s 500 meters from the beach. Free parking is right in front of the hotel.

The Winter Quarter is charming, with a really typical and very peaceful feel. We got a young, very friendly welcome, and the prices were fair. Breakfast was decent. I’d recommend it.
