The modern building has a gym and good activity areas, and the studio was perfect for us. We loved the amazing view and being able to cook our own meals on the electric cooktop. The area has an industrial feel, but inside it feels very safe and professional. Coming from the Philippines, I found it a wonderful introduction to Europe. It was my first classic French breakfast, and I really enjoyed it.

The design is aesthetic, and there are good amenities: free gym access, a dance studio, a yoga room, two karaoke rooms, a DJ booth, and a music studio. They advertise cinema rooms, but those don’t exist. There’s also a pool table and table football in the lobby, which is fun if you have friends there. The location is really bad, in the middle of nowhere. Getting to Geneva on Sundays or at night is impossible, and there’s no supermarket or other amenities in Archamps. You have to take a bus to Lidl or Geneva. The ad saying Ecla is 20 minutes from Geneva is a lie, since it takes at least an hour to reach the city centre. The heavily advertised shuttle buses are inadequate and unreliable. They only run for a few hours a day, and can be so full that you may wait 50 minutes trying to get on. Reception staff can be very unfriendly and unhelpful, and at night there can be some very strange people in the lobby. You must pay rent and a deposit before signing the contract, and you also need housing insurance. Something is always broken.
