Au Retour du Lac

Our son had plenty of space to run around in the garden, and the countryside setting was lovely. The host was fabulous, and breakfast was homemade with fresh produce from the garden. Our room was adorable and very clean, with a renovated bathroom and a comfortable bed. There was also free private parking. We had a wonderful stay and would love to come back.

The breakfast was fresh, excellent, and full of delicious homemade things, served in a comfortable shared dining room beside the sleeping area. Isabelle was charming and helpful, showing us around and telling us about the history of her home. Our private, self-contained room was one of two and was beautifully furnished, well equipped, and very comfortable. The old house dates back to the time of the Revolution, though it has since been renovated to modern standards, and sits in extensive private grounds near the lake. It was so peaceful and relaxing that we slept well. We stopped for one night on our way to the Tunnel, about 30 minutes away, and found a real little gem. We'd gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality stopover or short break, and would return, probably for a few days. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We enjoyed the view of the lake from the lovely garden, with a cool box and champagne glasses kindly provided for the champagne we'd bought. Madame was warm and couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were clean, well appointed, and had their own entrance. Breakfast was continental, with fresh ingredients and eggs from the chickens wandering around the garden.

We've stayed several times, and Isabelle always makes us and the other guests feel welcome. The house sits in a large garden away from passing traffic, but it's only a short walk to town and the local restaurants. There's covered parking in the garden. The two letting rooms are nicely decorated, with ensuite bathrooms and good showers. Breakfast is plentiful and nicely presented, either in the main house or outside in the garden. Along with the usual continental fare, there are eggs, often homemade cake, and very good homemade jams. We've always enjoyed Aux Marronniers and La Bonne Auberge, which have quite different styles.
