Appart'Hotel Castel Emeraude

My balcony looked out over the river, and falling asleep to the sound of the water flowing by was bliss. The location is idyllic, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff are so friendly. Such a lovely find. I’d highly recommend it.

The restaurant was mostly empty when we walked over to Castel Emeraude last night for pizza. It’s a very pleasant spot for a decent pizza and beer, so that was a shame. The manager greeted us warmly and switched smoothly to English when he realised we didn’t speak French.

I’m back for my fourth stay, which says a lot. It’s a great place on the outskirts of Amelie Les Bains, with friendly staff, excellent facilities, and a lovely spot on the banks of the Tech. I can highly recommend it.

It’s easy to feel far away from everything here, with the trees and mountains all around, but the local town is only a short walk away. The evenings were so peaceful, with nothing but the sound of the river. The hotel was clean throughout, and everyone from reception to the cleaning staff was polite and friendly. Our room had a kitchenette and a good-sized fridge, handy for keeping food fresh. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh bread and pastries every morning. It’s a great base for exploring, like we did, and we’d definitely come back. One small thing: the gap under the apartment door let light from the hallway into the room. We fixed it with a towel.
