The room felt like a storage space turned into sleeping quarters. At 5 Rue de Reattu in Arles, I don't understand how Booking.com could offer it. There was no air conditioning, and the humid heat made that worse. The bathroom had no window and its exhaust fan didn't work. The small window provided too little light and ventilation, and because it faced a busy road, I couldn't open it or have any privacy. I was practically forced to stay in the dark. The place was dirty and the furnishings were run down.

The owner was so friendly and helpful. The apartment had a lovely living room, a kitchen, and two bedrooms, all nicely furnished. The bathroom was smaller, though still roomy enough. The stairs up to the first floor are quite steep, which is common in this old part of the city. The location is excellent, right in the center, and paid parking was available nearby. The kitchen had everything we needed, plus salt, sugar, oil, vinegar, tea, and coffee, though most other supplies weren't there. I recommend it!

The apartment has real charm, with a very central location and attentive staff. A good place to stay if you're headed to Arles, highly recommended.
