The setting and estate are lovely, and Feargal was a great host. Still, the grounds needed some care: they looked untidy, the pool wasn't clean, and the gîte terraces could have been swept clear of leaves. Our terrace was cleaned just as we checked out, which was funny timing. It gave me the impression that the gîte business wasn't a priority, though I hope I'm wrong. The owners didn't make us feel particularly welcome. The one who appeared in the video as the “speaker” didn't greet us or say merci, and no wine tour or tasting was offered. For a place that costs over €200 a night, I expected some appreciation and a more creative breakfast. It felt very plain, more like a youth hostel breakfast, and we felt a bit like a lower priority. We're now staying in Sete for less, and the breakfast here is an oasis compared with yours. To clarify my earlier comment, the heavy rain was on July 12th, my birthday. The place already looked dirty when we arrived on July 10th. The pool cleaner came the next day, which was quite OK. I still doubt that one owner's haughty attitude will change. Maybe he doesn't like estrangers? Thank you for responding to my critique.
