There was plenty of private parking, and they even had a sheltered spot for my motorcycle. The hosts were friendly and helpful, the food at the hotel was great, and the rooms seemed newly renovated. Everything was very clean and comfortable.

The location suited me perfectly while I was walking the western route of the Camino Frances between St Jean Pied de Port and Roncesvalles. I wanted to stop in Arnéguy and was lucky to find Hotel Clementenia, a peaceful oasis in the Basque Pyrenees near the French-Spanish border. I arrived early and was welcomed warmly, then could relax in the cozy salon and lounge, with a book or something on the screen. MarieFlore recently took over and updated the hotel, with decor that feels calm and casually sophisticated. From the breakfast, tapas and dining area, and from the rear-facing guest rooms, there's a lovely view of the river. The back garden is still being worked on, so I'd like to come back and see how it turns out. I can imagine this being a lovely stop for a road trip, cycling or walking holiday. About 1 km before the hotel, I happened to pass a shopping centre with a supermarket, cafe, restaurant, Pharmacie and shops, handy if you need essentials.

It's in a beautiful spot, and the value is fantastic. The new owners have very recently renovated everything to a high standard. There's a great motorcycle road nearby. Highly recommended!

I was there with my family for one night on our way home after spending a whole week at a house on holiday, and we got bitten by bed bugs. The bites began appearing 3-5 hours after we woke up. When we called later that day to tell the owner, she said they weren't there, even though we knew they were. I would've expected at least a full refund. Awful owners.
