The service was attentive and genuinely pleasant, and both the restaurant and bar were good. It’s a calm hotel in a nice area to stay.

The bar could use a few more light lunch or snack options, but that was a small point. We finally made it to Le Roof on our fourth try, and it lived up to what we’d hoped for: the location, comfort, food, and service were all first class. I celebrated my 91st birthday there in style. I’d happily recommend it.
The location is very nice and the place is really good. The staff were friendly, though some basic service details seemed unfamiliar to them, perhaps because they hadn’t trained in French hospitality schools.
We went in June for a wedding and were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked this place. The grounds are beautiful, the location is breathtaking, and the rooms are spacious. The staff were lovely and the service was great. It’s a small hotel with more of a bed-and-breakfast feel, which worked well for us. Breakfast was pretty decent too.
The hotel’s view is fantastic, and the food was very good, but there’s a lot that needs improving. We drove over 1,000 km from Switzerland for a 10-day stay. Both rooms we’d booked were very small: room 111 faced the lift, while room 125 smelled terrible. We had to wait two days to move because no other room was available sooner. Two receptionists were friendly and helpful, one blonde woman who spoke good English and another young woman, as was a young man who served in the Brasserie and lives at the hotel. The bar and restaurant staff otherwise seemed unfriendly and unmotivated. Joris, the Maitre d’hôtel, spoke good English but came across as very unwelcoming and arrogant, particularly with foreign guests. Because of his treatment, we ate at the restaurant and Brasserie only four times during our 10 days. Breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate and cost 14 Euro per person each morning. It was the same every day, with no fresh-pressed juice offered or available. There are no staff name badges, and there’s no air-conditioning anywhere in the hotel, so keep the weather in mind. A friendlier, more equal welcome for all guests would have helped.
