Hotel d'Angleterre

We were welcomed so warmly by our host, who had homemade crepes waiting by the fireplace when we arrived. A charming hotel with lovely views.

The bicycle garage deserves a mention: it’s properly set up with a hanger, tools, a pump, and more. We really enjoyed our stay, with very friendly staff, lovely rooms, and a superb breakfast.

Waking up to birdsong and sunrise over the foggy hills was a lovely start to the day, after the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages. The hotel is close to everything Arreau has to offer, yet wonderfully peaceful. The staff were so kind and attentive with our very chatty 8-month-old, bringing things for him before we even had to ask. I only wish we’d stayed longer and tried dinner at the restaurant. If breakfast is anything to go by, it would have been amazing. I hope I can come back someday!

I left my wedding ring behind, and the hotel found it and mailed it all the way to me in Finland! The hotel itself was excellent and well located, with a private courtyard pool that was great in the hot weather. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, too.
