What made the stay special was the two hosts. The woman was all smiles and couldn't do enough to help, and the chef served restaurant-quality meals at a very fair price. The alpine village has stayed unspoilt by ski infrastructure, and the houses have wooden rooms. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed, including big, soft towels, and the bed was comfortable. Upstairs, the dining room is a large place to sit or eat, with a view to die for. One of the best places I've stayed in years. Highly recommend it if you're in the area. (Jun, ‘23)

LA GIRANDOLE was a lovely little family-run place, and everything was clean, fresh, and nice. I stayed one night in early July 2018 during my MOTO ride along ‘Route des Grandes Alpes’, after coming down from Col D’Izoard 2360 mts. Vanessa, who speaks English, gave me a really nice welcome. Her husband cooked a veeery tasty dinner, and breakfast was great too. The wifi worked well in my top-floor room, and I had no complaints. I'd recommend it.

After a long day on my bicycle, I tried to stay there today, but she told me they were full and was rude about it. She couldn't even suggest anywhere else to try, so I had to ride over Izoard and keep going to find accommodation. I won't be back. 👎

We were pleased to find the Viso double room suited us perfectly, as a couple travelling with a child. We stayed at La Girandole for five nights and already knew the house from many earlier visits. Coming back brought some nerves, since the place held such lovely memories and we wondered whether the new owners could measure up to the previous ones. They did. The welcome and service were very attentive, with advice that took our grandson into account. Breakfasts were generous and varied, and the delicious, refined food came in plentiful portions. It's a comfortable house and excellent value for money.
