The home-cooked dinner hit the spot after a long day, and breakfast got us ready to walk again. Roxanne even washed our clothes and handed them back fresh and neatly folded. When we were dreading the next day's walk, she offered to drive us part of the way, which gave our tired legs a welcome rest. La Maison D’Antan was one of the most memorable, restorative stops on our Camino Saint Jacques journey. We arrived tired and sore, and the peaceful, beautifully kept home made us feel welcome right away. It has a grand feel but still feels intimate. Our clean, comfortable room had tasteful, old-fashioned family furnishings that gave it a distinctive character, quite unlike a standard hotel. Roxanne was the heart of the stay. She welcomed us warmly, was informative and helpful, and treated us like honoured guests rather than pilgrims just passing through. Her kindness after a long day's walk meant a lot. For walkers who value personal touches, genuine hospitality, and a home with character, this felt like a little piece of pilgrim heaven.

The large room was clean and had great amenities, with newly renovated bathrooms alongside old-fashioned furnishings. We also got a warm welcome from the couple of parakeets in the lobby. The woman running Maison d'Antan was so kind that she carried our four heavy bags up the stairs before we arrived. We stayed there while passing through town on our Camino Podiensis adventure. What a charming, quaint place. If you're in Arzacq-Arraziguet, you won't regret staying at Maison d'Antan.
