ACE Hôtel Travel Athée sur Cher - A85 Aire du Val de Cher

The room itself was very clean and had what we needed, and breakfast was okay: croissants, chocolatines, rolls, some yogurt and cheese, cereal, milk, apple and orange juice, and a coffee machine. Getting to the room was the hard part. We stayed several nights, assuming the location would be handy, but the autoroute access made things awkward. We either had to use the help button and pay a high toll, or take a long route around, go through several gates, and walk around the building. The fenced exterior feels off-putting, with just one entrance and exit. Finding check-in was tricky too, since the desk is inside the rest stop shop and its sign was tucked away.

Breakfast took a while because the restaurant was already packed at 8 a.m. Still, the rooms were large, and having a connecting door between our two rooms worked perfectly for the family. The air conditioning was great on such a hot day. Good value when all you need is somewhere to sleep for the night.

We just needed somewhere clean and safe to sleep for one night, and this did the job. The room was a decent size and the staff were nice. It felt a little funny staying at a motel attached to a highway rest stop, but it worked well for a quick overnight.

Really good value for a motorway stop. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning, and the parking felt secure. Fab for a quick break on the road.
