The bathrooms were dirty and smelled bad, and the staff were very rude. I had a miserable stay here. The campground is in an uninteresting area, and when you need help, you’re left to manage on your own. I can understand why its rating is so low. I’d never stay here again, and I’ll make sure other travelers know to avoid it.
The lake is small but makes for a lovely walk, and the pitches had enough space for our tent and car. We found the service unfriendly, though, and wouldn’t recommend this campsite. Maybe it would have felt different if we spoke French, since the owner speaks very little English and communication was difficult for us. There isn’t much to do nearby, either. Bread was available to order, but we didn’t use the service. When we checked out around 08:30, the reception should already have been open, but the female owner came out in her bathrobe and seemed uninterested in taking our payment. We didn’t think that was professional. The reception had also been unattended when we arrived at 15:00, despite the hours posted online and on the door. The toilets and showers were okay. One toilet and one sink in the women’s section were out of order, though luckily it wasn’t busy. Laundry was €4 to wash and another €4 to dry, but the drying cycle wasn’t long enough to leave the clothes dry. Electricity cost €4 a day, and the hookup needed a different adapter from a standard three-pin camping one. You could hire one at reception. Unfortunately, the wifi didn’t work.
We woke each morning to a lovely view of the lake from our tent pitch. The campsite is a peaceful spot, with good walks around the lake and through the quiet village. Facilities were a good standard and cleaned every day. Everything was very clean, and we’d love to come back.
The campsite has a lovely pond, some trees and ducks, and a really nice atmosphere. Reception was friendly and welcoming, and the sanitary facilities stayed clean and dry. It’s a popular place, so calling ahead is a good idea. The swimming pool is a short two-minute walk away and was a nice way to cool off. Ask at reception about a better price.
The caravan was spotless and everything worked, except we had no hot water on the last day. We rented it for six people and there were four of us, and the price for what we got was great. The man at reception, who I assume is the owner, was really friendly and took the time to explain everything clearly so we understood. We’d definitely come back.
