The setting alone is stunning, and the atmosphere, service, and food made the price feel well worth it. We’d come from a nearby campsite, an easy walk, and had expected a costly meal with a limited menu based on other reviews. That was exactly what we found, but it was a wonderful dining experience. Our four-course meal for two, with G&T, wine, sparkling water, and coffee, came to €147. It may be a treat, but find an excuse to go.

We came for dinner while staying at a local campsite. The menu options are limited, but everything we tried was delicious, so I reckon you'd be happy with whatever you choose. The staff were amazing and the food exquisite. If you're in the area, it's a lovely place to visit and a must!

We came across this place by chance at lunchtime and, even though nobody else was dining, they kindly welcomed us. We had the medieval dining hall to ourselves, and the atmosphere was beautiful and magical. There’s just one set menu with no choices, though they were happy to adapt it for vegetarian food, which I really appreciated. The food was simple for the price, but tasty. They mentioned a kids’ menu for 15 euro when we ordered and said it was the same food in smaller portions. Then our very young children, aged 4 and 6, seemed to get the same food as us adults and barely ate any of it. When the bill arrived, they’d been charged the adult price. If you’re eating with kids, be very clear that you want the children’s menu. We didn’t stay overnight.

A great meal, excellent service, and they’re dog friendly. It’s a one-off experience, with fine dining in medieval surroundings. Four courses for under £35, amazing.
