B&B HOTEL Clermont-Ferrand Aubière Sud

We slept well, thanks to the comfortable beds and pillows, and the bathroom had a really good shower. I liked the painted fake windows on the wall, too. It’s a modern hotel and good value. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including a microbrewery, and reception has discount coupons. We used one for 15% off our lovely pizzas. The free motorway is handy. There’s no EV charging at the hotel, though we found lots nearby at other hotels and the cinema. We’ll come back.

The bed linen looked a bit too worn and could do with an upgrade. Aside from that, the room was spacious, with a reasonably sized bathroom, and the hotel met our expectations. It was good value and well placed for our road trip.

The breakfast wasn’t great. The bacon seemed boiled instead of fried, there was no ham, and the coffee was terrible. It could still suit you if you’re in a hurry and don’t want to look for somewhere else to eat. The room itself was fair for the price, with a very good mattress and working air conditioning. The bathroom was small, as expected at that price. Getting in with the code lock was frustrating: we had to try about 10 times before it worked. We arrived around midnight and couldn’t reach any staff, which wasn’t a nice experience. I’d stay again if the price stays the same, but I’d think twice about breakfast.

I was very satisfied with everything else, but the accessible room wasn’t up to the usual standard. The bed was too low for me to get up from without help. Although the bathroom was a wet room, it had no seat in the shower and no hand grips, apart from a token rail by the toilet. I’m disabled and have mobility problems.
