Terres de France - Le Domaine de la Baie

The location near town was handy, and there were nice amenities like the pool, slide, and ping pong. The staff were friendly, there was a kids club (we only used it once), they were flexible about visitors, and they put us in nearby houses. We still had a decent week, but we won't be back next year. The houses were very small. There were three of us in a T6 meant for up to six, and ours was really battered, with dings in every corner and a sewer smell in some areas. The beds were so hard my back is still hurting. The property sits on a steep hill, with the parking lot at the very bottom. Check-in and checkout were too rigid, Saturday to Saturday only, so our whole vacation had to fit that schedule. There was also an exit inspection to check the cleaning. They count the inventory down to the spoons at both check-in and checkout. My brother's deposit was charged twice because their system wasn't properly synchronized. The hammam was broken, but they didn't mention it during the long welcome speech. When we raised it, the host said she preferred to focus on the positives. That felt deceitful. We had to bring everything ourselves: no towels, salt, pepper, or dishwasher, and just one roll of toilet paper for the whole house. No soap or shampoo either, which felt very cheap. There weren't enough vacuums or portable ovens to borrow, and they didn't provide a recyclable trash bag. The staff seemed understaffed and inexperienced. The reception desk was only open at certain times, and staff sometimes showed up 10 minutes late. They also charge for wifi. Come on, this isn't 2000 anymore.

We spent two weeks here at the end of May and had lovely weather. The accommodation was clean, modern, and comfortable, and Audierne was an easy walk away. Staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a small indoor pool and a larger outdoor one, and the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi were all working. The gym is small, with a rowing machine, bike, and cross trainer, but no treadmill. It’s always empty! There were mainly French guests, so it was nice to get away and be left in peace. It would suit a young family, older people, or anyone wanting to get away from it all. Very reasonably priced, and we'd come back.

It felt very basic, like staying in a caravan, and cost far too much for what it was. I didn't enjoy the stay and couldn't wait to leave. I wouldn't return or recommend it to anyone.

The grounds were pleasant and the accommodation was excellent. It was peaceful, too, and about a 10-minute walk to the center.
