We booked in February for a stay at the end of May, but the day before we were due to arrive from abroad, they cancelled, claiming our card details were “invalid.” I checked and they were correct. They wouldn’t explain what was wrong or try to sort it out before cancelling, and said we could book again at extra cost. It felt like they were trying to scam us for more money. Outrageous and completely unprofessional. We booked through Trip.com, and they said they would review their relationship with the hotel because of its unscrupulous conduct.

The price was superb for the location. It’s ideal for CDG airport and Parc des Expositions, and handy for getting quickly into central Paris. The Aulnay high street is pleasant and has everything you need locally. Staff were very friendly and obliging, and my functional room had an en-suite. The new owner is investing in room upgrades from Jan 26. I’d definitely come back.

The location is practical, just 2in walking to the station, but the rooms weren’t clean and the breakfast was terrible. Check whether the lift / ascenseur is working before you go: I’ve stayed twice, and it wasn’t working either time. My room was on the third floor, and there was nobody to help with my bags.

My first room had an air conditioner that didn’t work, even though I was paying for it. There was something that looked like black mold around the tub faucet, and the key card stopped working midday Saturday. During a fire emergency I couldn’t get into my room. Some staff were very unreasonable and refused to give me the owner’s information. This was a zero-star motel, and the owner should be ashamed to advertise it. If you want a nice place to stay, beware!

We had a good room after the renovation, and it was clean and warm. The staff were friendly, and the hotel has a great location. The metro is a three-minute walk away, and if you’re driving there are lots of places nearby to leave the car. I wish the hotel success as it develops.
