The room itself was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the Wi-Fi worked, though it wasn't great. But the smoke made the night miserable. I arrived when reception didn't smell of cigarettes, then later the upstairs room filled with smoke until my chest hurt and I felt sick. I asked the owner twice to smoke outside, but he didn't do it. He smokes indoors, and it felt really inconsiderate to make guests breathe it in when he could choose to step outside. I had to leave the windows open and stuff towels under the door to keep more smoke out, so I was freezing. At 70 euros, the room had its good points, and an extra router upstairs might help with the Wi-Fi. Still, I'd never stay here again.

The calm surroundings made it easy to unwind, and the gîte was clean, comfortable, and had what we needed. Each morning began with a generous breakfast, with plenty of variety and fresh, tasty food. Our host gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and stayed attentive and available during the week. We left very happy with our stay and would recommend the place to friends and family.

The food was carefully made, tasty, and seemed to use fresh local ingredients. We had a lovely evening in a cozy, quiet setting that would suit dinner with friends or a romantic meal. La Maison Du Bonheur has a warm, welcoming feel, and the staff were so friendly and thoughtful that we felt noticed and appreciated. It really does feel like a house full of happiness, just as its name suggests.

The terrace breakfast was plentiful, and Joël was so friendly and attentive, always making sure we were well looked after. I really liked the peaceful setting, and the room was very pleasant.

The little garden and the quiet house felt like a world apart from the bustle, and made it easy to picture the stories held by those old stones. We spent a short time in Aups, staying in an unusual 12th-century house tucked away in a peaceful, intimate alley. The owner made the place feel personal through his paintings and travel stories, and welcomed us so warmly that we'd like to return. Breakfast was a lovely continuation of that welcome. October 2022.
