We’ve been coming to Auray every year for about 14 years, and we always stop at Cadoudal terrace for coffee with our dogs. The service and coffee are consistently excellent, and the staff are terrific. Now and then we pop in for a local beer, or try something from the unusually good wine selection. We’ve booked an overnight stay there for later this year and are looking forward to it.

Our small room in the little hotel was fine. Auray was very quiet, almost deserted, when we visited in July, but over the three days we grew fond of the city. There are nice restaurants in the harbour, and it’s a good base for trips around southern Brittany/Bretagne.

It’s tricky to drive to until you realize you can go through what looks like a pedestrian precinct. The effort is worth it, since the hotel is in the centre of a lovely town. The desk manager speaks some English and is very helpful. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, with a double bed and bunk beds for a couple of children. There’s a proper cafe/bar attached to the hotel, with separate entrances.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the room was comfortable and quiet. I had a lovely stay at this cozy little hotel and would happily come back on my next trip to Britany.

I liked the terrace and the local amber beer, which was reasonably priced. The cheese and local charcuterie were a nice way to recharge after visiting Notre Dame cathedral. This little bar is right in central Auray and the service was cool. It gets crowded on Tuesdays because of the market.
