Les Roses d'Autan

We felt right at home there as a family, and have now stayed twice for longer stretches since November. It’s a peaceful place in nature, yet Caraman’s amenities are close by. The owners are welcoming and charming, while also giving us plenty of privacy. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped, and the house is well insulated, with a fireplace that’s especially nice in winter. The renovated Lauragais farmhouse has lovely exposed stone walls and wrought iron details. In summer, there’s a swimming pool, plus ping-pong and foosball, and a lovely shaded terrace. A walking trail runs just below the house. I highly recommend it.

The setting is beautiful, which made the disappointment worse. During the heatwave, the swimming pool we’d been looking forward to was unusable because the filtration system wasn’t working. The owner agreed to a small discount, but only after we insisted.

So quiet and peaceful, with no noise at all, and the people were really charming. We enjoyed relaxing walks, and the house was heated very well. Everything was spotless and nothing was missing. The village is easy to reach, and all the amenities are just a 7-minute drive away. I recommend it without hesitation.
