The meals were a highlight, really tasty traditional French cooking, and they catered well for vegetarians and vegans. Half board meant the same set menu style each night, so it may not suit you if you want lots of choice or aren’t keen on some French dishes. We stayed four days in a warm, comfortable chalet style hotel that was really nicely put together. It’s a bit of a walk from Auris, so getting to the ski slopes requires a car. We didn’t have one, but Virginie kindly drove us there and back each day, even though she didn’t have to. She was a lovely host, and the hotel made a huge difference to a great trip.

It felt like home, with a perfect location, really good cooking, and such a warm welcome. Everyone was kind and friendly. I’ll definitely come back!

The food was so good, and I’m already looking forward to coming back. We stayed at Auberge la Forest during last week’s ski trip, and Virginia and the team were lovely and attentive throughout. Our room was spotless and had a homely feel. Such a gem. Chapeau!

Silven was so friendly and generous with everyone. He even stopped to help a woman with a flat tire who wasn’t staying at the hotel, while he was busy there. The food was really nice too :)

The staff were kind and helpful, and our room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely view. The setting in this tiny, quiet town is beautiful. But the internet was extremely weak, sometimes nonexistent, which was a big problem for us because we rely on it to plan our trip and stay in touch with family. My husband also had an allergic reaction, quite possibly from the dog that wandered all over the property. We didn’t have a pleasant stay.
