A good, reasonably priced hotel in the middle of Auxerre. Check-in and checkout were both smooth, and choosing a river-view room was a good call. The room was plain and clean, with enough for what we needed. The breakfast room looked modern and bright, and the food was good. It could have offered more plant-based or vegan choices, though we really appreciated having oat milk.

The room was clean, with a great view of the river and the city beyond. Breakfast had a good mix of hot and cold food, and plenty of hot drink choices.

The other parts of our stay were good, which made the room situation a shame. We'd paid a little extra expecting something slightly better, but it was uncomfortably small, beyond what seems acceptable even for a budget hotel. There were only a few centimetres between the wall and the foot of the bed to reach the other side. Older or larger adults might not fit through there, and there was no floor space to open a suitcase except on the bed. This room should be cheaper and come with a warning that it may not suit older or larger people. I'm not impressed with Ibis and Accor for charging us for such a substandard room.

Elena, who did our rooms in the morning, deserves a special mention. Her big smile and friendly manner were a lovely start to the day, and all the staff were welcoming, efficient, and friendly. Breakfast had a very good range of food, and there were free parking spaces nearby. The hotel is perfectly placed for visiting Auxerre and its beautiful region. The one thing I'd mention is that the rooms were too warm for us at 24°C. I strongly recommend staying here.

The hotel was clean, had a modern style, and was nicely decorated. The staff were nice, and it was dog friendly. The price was very competitive.
