Hostellerie du Moulin des Ruats

This place stole my heart. It’s so charming, cozy, and authentic, unlike any hotel I’ve stayed in. Tucked away beside a murmuring stream, under a wide canopy of trees, it feels wonderfully secluded. The rooms are comfortable and distinctively designed, and the restaurant downstairs is very good. I’m grateful to the owners, and to fate for bringing me to this magical place. ✨

The people were friendly and made us feel welcome, and the food and drinks were excellent. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area. Down in the valley du Cousin, beside the small Cousin river and surrounded by forest, the location is lovely. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated in a contemporary style. It was easy to reach and very good value for money. A cozy, charming place to get away.

We were upgraded to a large room, with a great bathroom, comfortable beds, and plenty of space. The staff were very friendly, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The almond croissants and home-cured ham at breakfast were especially memorable. The price was excellent for the quality. One thing to bear in mind: the hotel sits in a wooded valley by a river, a very special setting, but it gets little light down there and can feel colder outside.

The restaurant was the highlight for us. Its food celebrated traditional cuisine and fresh ingredients, and every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The panoramic view made the meal feel even more special. Breakfast was a treat too, with a lovely range of fresh, local products. Le Moulin des Ruats is a charming former mill in a peaceful valley, with the nearby river adding to the calm. Our room was comfortable and well appointed, and its décor mixed rustic touches with modern comfort. We appreciated the details and cozy feel. The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were warm, friendly, and attentive, and made us feel valued. It was a memorable stay and a great way to enjoy the countryside, hospitality, and food. We’ll certainly return, and would recommend Le Moulin des Ruats to anyone looking for an authentic Burgundy retreat.
