For the price, it’s a good hotel, with clean, pleasant rooms that are large enough without being spacious. The bathrooms have been renovated, and breakfast was decent. Dinner was good, though on both visits in April 2019 the wait staff seemed inexperienced and inefficient, so service took quite a while.

The restaurant serves very good traditional French food. We stayed for three nights during a driving tour of Burgundy, and found the room very comfortable and recently modernised.

The food was very good and the service was nice. Unfortunately, the regular gourmet menus we’d been looking forward to weren’t available on 1 January. We could only choose the cheap menus or a very expensive Christmas menu. Still, I’d strongly recommend it.

Whenever we drive through France on our way to Italy, Capuchins is one of our regular hotel stops. The garden rooms are quirky and lovely, the area is beautiful, and the restaurant is second to none.
