Hôtel Alizéa

The location is great and the staff were very friendly. I was happy with the clean, comfortable room and the bathroom was good. The pillow felt a bit too big, and noise insulation wasn't perfect, but I had a great stay overall.

The walls were so thin I could hear a neighbor's TV and even guess what temperature their AC was set to. Our room also had holes in the wall, which management had tried to hide behind furniture. It needs a very deep clean and bed bug treatment. It's technically a hotel, with a room and a bed where you can sleep, including alongside bed bugs. Book only if you're desperate.

The central location was a plus, just 2 minutes from the station and 5-8 minutes from the Palais des Papes. The staff were smiling and friendly, and despite its wobbly legs, the bed was comfortable. The room was very basic, with a bed, table, closet, and a zink. I couldn't get the bedside lights working after trying every switch, so I had to use the ceiling light and the one above the zink. The sheets looked clean, though I spotted black marks in a corner. There was an oil and garage smell in the hallways, and the corridor toilet needed a proper cleaning. The shower was also down the corridor on the third floor, while I was on the first. There was only one shower, and I don't know how many rooms shared it. Both times I used it, the water was cold, and the shower cabin had no lights. I didn't expect that from a hotel in Western Europe in 2018. It was cheap, but I probably wouldn't book it now. I'm not sure whether it was a hotel or also a dormitory.

For what you get, the price was far too high, though the location earned an extra star. I came in after reading the bad reviews, wanting to prove them wrong, but there was no reason to give it a high rating. A handyman with paint and tools, along with some decent cleaning and maintenance, could sort the place out.
