The Atlas Room was such an unusual, different place to stay, and the bed was very comfortable. We used the kitchen area a little, though we only had bed and breakfast. The homemade cakes and pastries were lovely, though definitely not for anyone watching their weight. The one thing we'd change is the street facing window right by the shower, where there was only a lace curtain and we felt exposed. Free parking right outside was great, especially with Avignon's walled city only a 10 minute walk away. We stayed two nights.

Jean Phillipe was extremely friendly, and I'm grateful to him for his hospitality and useful advice. His suggestions helped us make much better use of our day in Marseille instead of wasting time. Keep up the great work.

The hosts were attentive and made us feel welcome. Our room was comfortable, with what we needed and facilities for preparing our own meals. Breakfast was lovely, and town was just a few minutes' walk away. Nights were quiet.

Philip, a former elementary school teacher who retired early, was attentive and full of helpful information for guests. His breakfast was simply superb. We stayed at Bamboo Hotel, in a quiet part of the island just across Pont Edouard Daladier. I won't forget the fantastic view of Avignon Papal Palace from the banks of the Rhone.

The rooms at L'îlot Bambou take their design ideas from the owners' travels, with themes such as Bali, Batik, Azur, Morocco, and Martinique. The family run hotel has welcoming owners, Jean-Philippe and Tatiana. He offered his own honey at breakfast, and it was delicious. Their "Olympic size" pool was a lovely spot to cool off and relax in the peak heat. We had a lovely stay.
