Dismal. This was massively overpriced for what we got. They called it a “2-bedroom suite,” but it was really just two adjoining standard rooms, nothing like a proper suite. The spa was €30 per hour per person, which felt outrageous for a hotel spa that’s meant to be part of the experience. I had 3 pints of beer, but they tried to charge us for 7. That tells you a lot about the billing. Total rip-off, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The bed sagged and was uncomfortable, and my Classic Room was missing basic 4-star amenities: no conditioner or lotion, and they tried to charge me for a toothbrush. When I raised it, Accor corporate said the hotel had “local autonomy” to set its own rules, which apparently let it ignore brand standards. Worse, I found unauthorized charges on my bill for things I never requested. The staff were combative and unprofessional when I questioned the errors. If this Mercure can use that autonomy to hit guests with bogus fees and offer zero hospitality, its 4-star rating is a lie. Check every line of your bill or stay elsewhere.

At Mercure Avignon TGV, I found bogus charges on my bill, and staff justified their unprofessional behavior and shady billing by hiding behind “local autonomy.” Accor corporate was useless and wouldn’t hold them accountable. They also use “eco-friendly” as cover for charging for toothbrushes and removing all amenities from Classic Rooms. The bed was awful. Don’t give them your credit card. #HotelScam #AccorHotels #Avignon

The hotel was well appointed, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and accommodating, especially Paul. Great place to stay, and I highly recommend it.

The room was spotless, modern, and even smelled lovely, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Service was warm and amazing. Housekeeping were so accommodating when we asked for towels after using ours at the pool, not realizing we could get them from the desk. Lucas was a fantastic bartender, and we looked forward to our evenings at the bar. On the night we had to pack and spend the evening in our room, he even helped us get some wine ready for it. I’m from the USA, and I’d tell anyone visiting the area to stay here. It was wonderful, and I hope to return someday.
