The front desk staff were kind and helpful, and the location made my stay more enjoyable. The Bridge of Avignon and Cathédrale Notre-Dame-des-Doms are nearby. One drawback was the AC in the restroom. It wasn’t powerful enough for me to use the blow dryer or hair iron comfortably.

The plumbing was a real problem in both rooms: the showers suddenly got scalding hot and burned us, and the shower heads weren’t fixed in place, so they pointed at the walls and made showering awkward. The towels were postage-stamp sized and felt like facecloths, while the bedding was poor quality, had no closures, and had a seam down the middle. There was unpleasant-smelling incense in the corridors, and at breakfast no staff were around, so dirty plates piled up. The hotel is old and dated, more like a two-star than a four-star place. At this price, it’s not a good option.

I rarely write reviews, but our stay left me very unhappy. I left two dresses in the closet when we had to depart early. Our tour director contacted the hotel the next day, but they couldn’t find either dress. To me, that seemed dishonest and unacceptable. Where could they have gone? The bathroom outlet wouldn’t run even the hotel’s own European-wattage blow dryer. It seemed suitable for razors only, and the front desk said this was a safety issue. That meant drying my hair outside the bathroom, where the only mirror was awkwardly placed and nowhere near a table. It felt like a strange setup for a decent chain hotel in 2025. I’ve stayed in historic village convents with more convenient bathrooms. The lobby and terrace looked attractive, but there was paper rubbish scattered around the main entrance. The same trash I saw on day one was still there two days later when we left. I could have picked it up myself, so why didn’t the bellman?

Breakfast had a wide selection, including local foods, and the staff were friendly. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and good hot water pressure in the bathroom. The hotel has direct access to the Papal Palace, and there’s a city parking lot nearby. If excursion groups are staying at the hotel, it’s best to arrive early for breakfast or you may have to wait.
