Hotel Le Chalet

After a long day touring the mountains on our motorbike, we arrived and immediately felt welcome. The receptionist offered us one of the most comfortable rooms, with two terraces and the calming sound of the river right below. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious. We’ll stay longer next time we visit this beautiful region.

The receptionist was kind and helpful, and never said no to our requests. They sometimes offered complimentary drinks, which tasted out of this world after a cold day skiing. The hotel is in a great spot, three minutes’ walk from the telecabins and right by the calming river. Definitely recommend staying here!

I wouldn't stay here again. The room was dirty, with little dark hairs all over and mold in the shower, and you could hear pretty much everything through the walls. The rooms are very old, the Wi-Fi is painfully slow, and there are hardly any places to plug things in. Dinner was rice and vegetables for me, which was okay but had no protein. The meat eaters got a huge slab of meat with their rice, and even they didn't find it appetizing.

The Christmas Eve dinner still comes up in conversation at home. We think it may have been the best meal we've ever had, and the food throughout our weeklong Christmas stay was so good that, after trying two other restaurants in town, we mostly ate dinner here and had breakfast here every morning. The chef, receptionist and attendants put so much care into welcoming and feeding guests that we felt right at home. The staff worked incredibly hard and kept a close eye on everything. We had a lovely room overlooking the river, with plenty of space for our family to share. The receptionist also gave us all the information we needed to find two nearby Nordic skiing areas, which made planning that part of the trip much easier. The area itself is beautiful, and Le Chalet made a great home away from home for our Christmas vacation. There are set service hours to keep to, as we found elsewhere in the country, and dinner reservations are needed. That seemed reasonable given the attention that goes into each meal. We're so glad we chose to stay here and can't wait to come back. For alpine or Nordic skiing, we'd recommend Le Chalet without hesitation.
