We picked this hotel for its location near the Animal Park and Chateau at Azay le Ferron, and both visits were excellent. On arrival at 5 pm, though, finding the hotel shut with a paper note asking us to phone a mobile number was a bit off-putting. The owners came within five minutes, were very friendly, and showed us to a large, clean room in an annexe where we could park right outside. We had drinks on the terrace, rested, then enjoyed a very good value dinner. The decor and facilities feel a little tired, but the attentive, friendly hosts more than made up for that. The accommodation was perfectly acceptable, and the restaurant was reasonably priced.

I only ate at the restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend.
