It’s an unpretentious, family-run place, and the owner kindly offered to help my elderly mother carry her bags since there’s no elevator. Parking is provided, which was a useful extra, and the castle is within walking distance. The hotel sits conveniently on the main road into Azay. The beds are comfortable and the facilities cover what you need without extras. They handle the basics very well, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and there’s plenty of private, free parking. It’s also handy for town and its restaurants. The hotel was welcoming, clean and friendly. The bed was very big, in a room barely bigger than the bed. The bathroom felt a little tired but had everything needed. The separate toilet was so small you have to open the door to pull your trousers up!

A lovely spot, only a two minute walk to the middle of town. We visited in June 2017 on a bike tour and got a very warm welcome. The owner/manager helped us so much and went above and beyond. Our room was super clean, and our bags were brought up and put away neatly.

Breakfast was pleasant and had a good variety, and the staff were helpful. It’s a nice little hotel, simple but very clean. There’s no lift, though you can’t always expect one in a three star hotel.

It’s lovely that independent hotels are still around. The owner is very friendly and takes care of everything. The location is right in the centre, with lots of restaurant options within walking distance. The nearby castle is a must see.
