Olydea - Château de Jouarres

Our balcony looked out over the countryside, and the apartment was roomy enough even for our family of five. The pool was a good size for our teenagers, with a friendly, relaxed feel instead of the competitive atmosphere you get at some hotels. The staff were amazing: the kitchen manager would do anything for you, his team were lovely, and the reception manager and staff made a real effort to talk with guests. There are caves, castles, and lakes nearby too, so plenty to do. We’re definitely coming back.

A charming place surrounded by vineyards, right by the Canal du Midi. The apartments were clean and comfortable, and reception and staff were very helpful. There’s a bar with excellent bar staff, plus a great swimming pool. A handy base for exploring this beautiful region.

We got great value for our family’s autumn break at this beautiful spot by the Canal du Midi.

It was my first stay here, and I think I could give it four stars. Being able to cook dinner and make breakfast was a plus. The place was quiet and relaxing, with not too many residents and plenty of parking. The attendants were pleasant and replaced the toaster when ours didn’t work. The room was clean and the beds were okay, though not especially comfortable. The light fixtures were dusty and needed cleaning. Blackberry trees made a bit of a mess nearby, so we had to watch our step and avoid tracking crushed berries inside. It also seemed like people come here to cycle around the area.
