The Secret Spot Lodge

We loved spending a week at this lodge. Breakfast was fresh and lovely, and the pool and outdoor kitchen area had a really chill vibe. We spent evenings hanging out there, playing ping pong, darts and basketball 😊. Nelly&Troy and their family were welcoming and friendly, with plenty of tips about the area. Troy also gave us some good surf lessons.

Troy and Nelly were wonderful hosts, and the house is nicely situated in the Hossegor area. We got a peaceful, relaxing surf trip, just what we wanted from a B+B. Every morning started with fresh coffee and a great breakfast, and there are lots of different surf spots nearby. Troy’s local knowledge helped us find good surf almost every day. The French Basque country is worth visiting on days without waves. I’d highly recommend the secret spot lodge for a calm stay.

Troy and Nelly were really great hosts, full of advice about the waves and the area, and I’d love to stay again. Their family and dog were lovely too. The accommodation was comfortable, and breakfast was pretty good. We could properly relax in the garden, on the decking and around the fantastic pool, and have our own BBQ. The region is incredible: we surfed at Moliets and Capbreton, and visited Messanges, Biarritz and Hossegor, all easy to reach.

The lodge was super comfortable, especially after a day surfing at nearby Messanges, which has a great beach break. I had a terrific five days with Troy and his family. The pool out back was lovely for swimming a few laps or just soaking in, and we had several memorable evenings cooking steaks on their BBQ. Great place.
