Les jardins de Cousinière

We loved coming back each day in time to enjoy the place and watch the beautiful sunset. We spent three days there in early December, in a lush, quiet spot that felt far removed from everything. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, with stunning views of the Caribbean. The couple who welcomed us were so friendly and gave us great ideas for exploring nearby and trying unusual activities.

The garden was beautiful, and we loved spotting the adorable little goats at the far end. Breakfast was delicious, especially out on the terrace overlooking the sea. Nathalie and Nicolas welcomed us so warmly that we felt at home with family, and the room was comfortable. The only small drawback was getting there: the road has some steep stretches and can be a little hard to find.

Birdsong, roosters, and goats all around, with a wonderful sunset to finish the day. We only stayed one night, but it was a lovely experience. The bungalow feels lush and peaceful, and Nathalie and Nicolas are very friendly. Tucked into the hills of Vieux Habitants, the place has a gorgeous view of the local plants and wildlife, plus a warm welcome.

The garden is lush and peaceful, and the Caribbean Sea stretches out in front of you. It’s a great base for exploring Basse-Terre. The hosts were lovely, always happy to share what they know about Guadeloupe and give us useful suggestions. We came away with wonderful memories. Go, you won't be disappointed!
